Gov. O’Malley’s Attack Ad Goes Too Far

Gov. Martin O’Malley’s negative attack ad on the radio tying Bob Ehrlich to the Gulf of Mexico oil spill went too far. The Baltimore Sun, Washington Post, and even the liberal blog Maryland Politics Watch condemned the attack as over the top, falsely labeling Ehrlich as a “lobbyist.” AFP-Maryland is not surprised at all – and we view this as a sign of things to come.

The economy and jobs, along with taxes and spending are the issues that Marylanders care most about. Candidates at all levels from both parties should be discussing ways to make our state “business friendly” so we can attract new jobs and achieve prosperity. However, O’Malley’s record of tax hikes and job loss render him incredible in a debate about job creation or fiscal management.

So – instead of engaging his opponent on their philosophical differences, Gov. O’Malley is spending a LOT of money in an attempt to CHANGE THE SUBJECT. Liberals all over the country will be taking the same page out of this campaign playbook. In order to hide their terrible records, liberals like O’Malley will attempt to disgrace opponents with falsehoods and distortions.

Don’t let liberals get away with this tactic!!!

We can fight back! We must stay on message – keep talking with friends, neighbors and co-workers about free market ideas to turn our economy around. AFP-Maryland can help…

That is why we kicked off our “Get Maryland Moving Again” statewide town hall meeting series three weeks ago. Our expert panel wants to let citizens know how the policies in Annapolis have hurt our chances for an economic comeback and discuss free market solutions to create new jobs. Our message is simple: get government out of the way and let entrepreneurs grow our economy.

You can register today for a “Get Maryland Moving Again” town hall meeting near you. Pass the GetMarylandMovingAgain.com website along to friends, families and neighbors and encourage them to attend. We have also included a new video that shows what our great state is up against!

Our next stop is Thursday, July 8 th in Annapolis! We will also be coming to a town near you, with events scheduled in Ocean City, Montgomery County and others.
