THERE WERE 100 HSM MEMBERS AT THE SILVER SPRING EVENT.

LET’S GET 100 OR MORE TO THE RALLY AGAINST CASA ON SATURDAY JUNE 19 IN LANGLEY PARK. SEE BELOW.

Gaithersburg to fight gangs with surveillance cameras

By: Brian Hughes
Examiner Staff Writer
June 14, 2010

I BET THIS WAS A SHOCK TO MOCO POLICE CHIEF TOM MANGER WHO DOES NOT BELIEVE WE HAVE A HISPANIC GANG PROBLEM IN MOCO. HOW LONG DO YOU THINK BONVILLAIN WILL BE ACTING CHIEF FOR BEING SO HONEST????

"Gaithersburg does have a gang problem throughout the city, specifically in Olde Towne," said acting Police Chief Chris Bonvillain.

About 10 street gangs are active in the city, which account for roughly 20 percent of police activity, said Detective Patrick Word.

He said the majority of crime in Olde Towne is tied to Hispanic gangs, particularly street robberies and "nuisance crimes" that could keep people from spending money in the corridor."

EVENT # 1

Savage, MD Meeting with State Senator Robey & Chief of Police – Howard County

There will be a meeting on Wednesday, June 16, at 5:30 pm in the Carroll Baldwin Hall to discuss what is going on in Savage regarding Hispanic gangs and what is being done about it. In particular, the recent incidents at the river and the increased criminal activity there.

HSM members are asked to attend as State Senator James Robey (Democrat), a former police chief, doesn’t believe there is a Hispanic gang or illegal alien problem in Howard County.
