URGENT APPEAL RE: MASSACHUSETTS AND OTHER STATES

Dear Dickmorris.com Reader:

Yesterday, on behalf of the the League of American Voters, I sent an urgent message to you that is repeated below.

I believe it is vitally important you read it and act on it. Many people may have missed it. If you have read it, I apologize, but I hope you can share it with friends as well.

Time is absolutely critical in states like Massachusetts and elsewhere and you can make a big difference. Please read my urgent message below.

Dick

********************************************************************

Dear Reader:

Time is critical. Americans all over the country are fed up with the Obama Administration.  They don’t want his radical healthcare program

Citizens from states like Massachusetts, Nebraska, Florida and others are rising up as never before.

Even in liberal states like Massachusetts citizens are showing their outrage over the Obama-Pelosi-Reid alliance and their dismal record at job creation efforts and their inability to protect us against terrorism.

The Democrats know that the final health vote has not taken place on the health care bill and that key Senators and Congressmen are starting to waver.

The politicians in Washington have seen the latest Rasmussen poll with Obama’s job approval down to 46%.

It is vital that we strike right now with a TV ad campaign in key states across the nation, states like Massachusetts, Nebraska, Colorado, Florida and others must be targeted, to expose the dangerous Obama-Pelosi-Reid healthcare plan and their out of control spending plans.

If polling data and other indices of public opinion reflect the growing outrage at Obama, the liberals in Washington will think twice before they vote for more taxes, spending and regulation.

The League of American Voters will have a new ad this weekend exposing Obama-Pelosi-Reid and their allies.

The League, where I serve as chief strategist, needs to spend $500,000 urgently this weekend and beyond in states like Massachusetts.

You can help this effort by Going Here Now.

I believe this ad will galvanize public opinion against Reid and Pelosi and Obama and offer real checks and balances in Washington.

Please donate in the next 24 hours so the ads can have an immediate effect on the national debate — Go Here Now.

Thank you,

Dick Morris

Maryland Senate Republican Caucus – 2010 Opening Day and Maryland Voter Outrage

While the media and political pundits view the state budget as the major
issue for the new legislative session of the General Assembly, it is likely
that the budget and all other issues will be overshadowed by the surging
voter anger in Maryland as legislators approach the 2010 elections.

Voter outrage over state overspending and high taxes was evident less than
eight hours after legislators introduced the first bills and cast procedural
votes on the first day of the 2010 Legislative Session. Braving
below-freezing temperatures, over 2000 citizens gathered on Lawyer’s Mall at
the steps of the side entrance of the Governor’s Mansion to protest loudly
their disagreements with the current Administration.

Governor Martin O’Malley’s opening day speech to legislators repeated his
pre-session media refrain that he’s now about “Jobs, Jobs, Jobs.”  But
Maryland needs more that talking about jobs and citizens at the rally were
skeptical that O’Malley’s new found interest will have any impact on
Maryland’s high unemployment rates that have occurred after three years of
higher taxes and increased regulation under his leadership.

According to reporter E.B. Furgurson, III, of The Capital, two speakers who
addressed state economic themes were:

Queen Anne’s County’s Donna Gildea, who owns D Squared Technology, a
communications technology representative firm:  ”Small business truly is the
engine of our economy. Politicians ask how can we create jobs … that is
not the government’s responsibility. The government’s responsibility is to
get out of our way, (remove) unnecessary regulations, taxes and fees.”

Neil Parrot, a small-business owner from Hagerstown who carpooled with “15
or 20″ like-minded residents from Washington County, also spoke about
Maryland’s economic situation. “We just passed one of the largest tax
increases in Maryland history,” he said. “This is unacceptable. We are
losing good businesses because of these fiscal policies.”

The rally was sponsored as a Tea Party event by several Maryland Tea Party
organizations and supported by Americans for Prosperity, Campaign for
Liberty, Maryland Taxpayers Association, Institute for Liberty and Help Save
Maryland.

Citizens at the rally pledged to return to Annapolis throughout the
legislative session to testify on bills and protest O’Malley’s policies that
promote the chronic overspending that has created a more than $2 billion
state deficit.

With the 2010 elections looming, elected officials and legislators are wary
of how widespread is the voter discontentment in Maryland and will it be
focused on the one-party rule of Democrats in political office.

Cecil Calvert sends scathing email to the State House – Short and to the point

Dear Leaders:

Poppa Joe Vallario Delegate, needs to wake up and smell the roses along with the rest of the Casa De Maryland Delegates from PG and Montgomery County and Baltimore City. We the people want this, do as we ask, we employ you, not the other way around.  Sex Offenders to spend life in Jail for offenses against our children and in cases of sex crimes related to murder, The Death Penalty should apply.  It is time to hold Illegal Immigrants responsible for being in our State Illegally and we should put E Verify and 287g in for State Wide Law.  No Excuses.  Illegal means breaking the law.  Undocumented, means you are here illegally, breaking the law.  No Amnesty for Illegals of any ethnic group.  Legal Presence Bill must be presented and passed.  We will push the Legislature on this and we will not be forced or told to shut up this time during testimony.

Senator Donald Munson From Washington County Voted to give Casa De Maryland over 1 Million Tax Dollars

I will list some of them for you.  There will be more coming at a later date.

1.  Millionaires Tax Increase

2. Pay Raises to Governor O’Malleys Staff Members

3. Voted to give Casa De Maryland over 1 million in tax payer dollars to illegal alien assistance

http://cecilcalvert.wordpress.com/2010/01/10/cecil-calvert-takes-on-gustavo-torres-and-casa-de-maryland-and-their-lobbing-groups/

4. Voted for the Speed Cameras.

5. Helped increase the Bloated State Government Budget currently under O’Malleys care.

Finally, as you can see, Donald Munson really is for the people, at least he thinks he is.

Here are two pictures to remember when you go to vote this year for Shank or Munson:

And finally, go read about Casa Maryland on one of my previous postings.  The leader of the group is receiving over 1 million dollars a year in funding from Hugo Chavez of Venezuela and he is also tied into the the Iranian Leader and FMLN of Central America.  This is NOT a Senator I want running my County.

Gustavo Torres Executive Director of Casa De Maryland.

SPLC Lies Get Salon Magazine and Mike Madden In Hot Water – Labels FAIR A Hate Group

SPLC Lies Get Salon Magazine and Mike Madden In Hot Water
January 14, 2009
www.alipac.us

A liberally biased reporter for Salon.com, Mike Madden, attempted to run to the aid of the Martha Coakley’s campaign yesterday after Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC) endorsed and contributed to the Scott Brown for U.S. Senate campaign in Massachusetts.

Americans for Legal Immigration PAC is a national organization with over 30,000 supporters that endorses hundreds of federal candidates each election cycle. The group’s mission is to represent the wishes of the 80% of Americans, found in multiple scientific and certified polls, who favor immigration enforcement instead of amnesty. ALIPAC makes overt, repeated, and documented efforts to be inclusive of Americans of all races, political parties, denominations, and walks of life. ALIPAC’s President, William Gheen, has a background in civil rights campaigns from the 1990s. The group is also supported by many LEGAL immigrants.

“We do all we can to represent the 80% found in those pro-enforcement readings in the polls,” said Gheen. “We know that the majority of blacks and Hispanics, as well as the majority of Democrats, favor enforcement over Amnesty. Our goal is to unify so we face constant false attacks on our organization’s character from unscrupulous writers like Mike Madden of Salon.com”

Mike Madden of Salon.com made a major mistake by launching a hit piece against ALIPAC after receiving ALIPAC’s press release about the endorsement of the Scott Brown campaign.

Madden accessed propaganda distributed by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), which has become widely discredited in the last few years for distributing false information that has embarrassed many members of the media who quoted them.

“We hope that the national embarrassment Mr. Madden and Salon.com will now endure for printing false and derogatory attacks in an attempt to affect the outcome of an election will be a lesson to others,” said Gheen. “Print media is not supposed to attempt to write political smears to influence elections, and when they use false information like this, everyone suffers.”

Mike Madden even attempted to contact the Scott Brown campaign to ask for responses to his promotion of false and derogatory information.

Here are our corrections that will be circulated nationally today.

SPLC / Mike Madden / Salon.com False claim #1

“Scott Brown’s ugly friends…. GOP candidate for Senate draws some support from the far right…a couple of unsavory right-wing groups are coming to Republican candidate Scott Brown’s aid — underscoring just how conservative the GOP nominee…really is.”

The use of the word “ugly” is overtly biased, childish, and highly unprofessional. This is a campaign for U.S. Senate, not a playground fight. If Mr. Madden and his editors are not up to the level of professionalism expected, they should stay away from the elections all together. It is not a far-right position to support secure borders and immigration enforcement while opposing Amnesty. Many Americans who consider themselves Democrats and liberals support ALIPAC’s stances.

SPLC / Mike Madden / Salon.com False claim #2

“The endorsement may not be entirely welcome news; the Southern Poverty Law Center points out that some of ALIPAC’s funding comes from the Federation for American Immigration Reform, which the SPLC has branded a hate group.”

Americans for Legal Immigration PAC is not and has not ever been funded by FAIR (Federation For American Immigration Reform). The SPLC claim that ALIPAC receives funding from FAIR is blatantly false.

Furthermore, ALIPAC does not recognize the SPLC claim that FAIR is a “hate group” as a legitimate claim. We have witnessed that FAIR is a multi-racial, non-violent, pro-immigration enforcement group that works with lawmakers and the media. The SPLC has developed a reputation for attacking multi-ethnic civic-oriented organizations that simply oppose illegal immigration.

In closing, ALIPAC is not “ugly”, “unsavory”, nor “right wing”. Opposing illegal immigration and Amnesty for illegals is not “ugly”, “unsavory”, or “right wing”. ALIPAC receives no funding from FAIR and FAIR is not a hate group.

Mike Madden, Salon.com, and The Southern Poverty Law Center are printing and circulating false and derogatory propaganda and in doing so are hurting their own credibility.
